A snow day...

...this time for Matthew! Classes were cancelled and so was everything in town. Today was my day off, so that was a waste of a snow day. Bummer. It started during the night and didn't stop until a few minutes ago (it's currently after 9pm) and could start up again. Now, we're used to snow, but this snow was bad. BAD. It's wet and heavy and dumped on everybody. We think there's about two feet, but it seems like a whole lot more. Matt and I went on a walk around the community and we were up to our knees in it! I've never lived through this, because in Syracuse the plows worked on the hour day and night. Many tree branches are down in our apartment complex and no one can keep up with the shoveling and plowing. We're not even sure that the roads will be cleared by tomorrow morning. We think many townspeople are snowed in and we wished we had a snow blower to help them out.
Here are some pictures.
Standing in the non-shoveled part.

Standing on the once shoveled walkway.

Still safe on the walkway.

The next street over. A little deep, don't you think?

"Why won't the snow roll?!"

Where's our car?

Our neighbor's house (with Lucy the dog). More of the tree has since come down.

Our mascot.

A tree killed a snowman. :(

Stay tuned for tomorrow's weather report and cancellations.

  1. AMAZING!! And I thought we had lots of snow here....you definitely win!! I'm hoping your mascot isn't really a frozen Lucy! Stay warm and dry, and keep the hot chocolate coming! Mom
