Today was the first day of faculty meetings. I think my butt got bigger from sitting all day long, and my ears got smaller from information over load!! I can't believe it's so late already. All of these meetings (full faculty, department, then dorm) have put my brain into work mode. I feel like the rabbit in Alice in Wonderland who screams "I'm late, I'm late, I'm very very late!" because he's going NUTS with responsibilities that are pulling him in every direction. Thankfully, I brain dump everything onto giant lists of things to do, but it seems like every time I go to check something off, I get distracted with another task and do all kinds of other (needed) duties and nothing gets crossed off!!!
My one joy (little j) is crossing things off of my list. Aaaahhhh.
I now know my weekly duty nights: Fall trimester: Sunday night and Tuesday night (Winter and Spring trimester, only one night per week) 7:30 to midnight. Note to self: must get snacks figured out.
I now know my Saturday night duties: 3 per trimester: weekends I'm on duty and have to sleep here.
I now know my 3 Saturday night activity (SNAs) duties (1 per trimester): this is where the school organizes fun activities, and we chaperone.
*Remember that there are only 10 weeks in each trimester, so to be on duty for 4 of those weekends is a lot of evening time.
**No wonder faculty LOVE to spend a weekend away from the dorms for some peace and quiet!!
***This is payment for my free housing.
Two more days of meetings--here we go!

I guess there is nothing truly free! I hope you will feel it is all worth it. Oh, and the list thing.....you got that from your Father!
