All I meant by it is that teenagers are driving me crazy and I think I'm going crazy.
I went fabric shopping, so I'm better now.
Seriously, I just had to leave school, even for an hour, just to see the outside world and do something fun. But these projects are for the dorm girls next year. I'll be sewing heating pads filled with rice and lavender. I have all summer to do it, and my goal is to finish them before school starts so that I don't have the extra work. Fall term is so busy in itself--wait! Why am I talking about fall term?!?!?!
So prom is next week and I've been trying to get a hair appointment. Hair is a little more worthwhile to me than manicures or pedicures or "professional" makeup. So I called this place in town, about a block away from school. Here's how the conversation went:
Me: Hi there, how much is a blow out (which is a shampoo and style)?
Lady: How long is your hair?
Me: Shoulder length.
Lady: Top of the shoulders or past them?
Me: Top of them.
Lady: (yells at a colleague): How much is a blow out? 30? 30.
Me: Ok. I'd like to make a reservation for Thursday. Do you have any openings?
Lady: We don't take reservations.
Me: ??
Lady: We take walk ins only--Wait! Is this for prom?
Me: Yes.
Lady: Ok, you need to make this your PRIORITY. You have to come first thing.
Me: But I teach! That's why I need a reservation anytime after 2 pm.
Lady: Gasp. That's a very busy time for us. You need to come much earlier, as soon as you can, the earlier the better.
Me: Ok. Thanks.
Meanwhile, I have to order a matching corsage and boutonniere. Can't wait for Thursday!!
