Dorm Duty

This is the last Saturday night dorm duty for this school year. Tear. YAAAAAYYYYYY!!!!!!!

Not that it would have cramped our Saturday night style... but that's besides the point.
Snacks for tonight include: chex mix (chex cereal, pretzels, kettle corn, M&Ms, cheez its, and yogurt covered raisins!), chocolate chip cookies, and .... DIRT!!

I remember when my mom served this at dinner time for company. They were in mini clay (plastic?) pots with a silk flower stuck right down the middle. She said "dessert is already on the table" and the French guests were like "huh?" And then she probably burst out laughing because mom can't keep a straight face when she tells jokes. I got that from her.

The end is near and with everyone graduating, it makes me melancholic. Some of these seniors I've taught 2 or 3 consecutive years now, so I feel especially attached to them. There's something special about a bond you have with a certain French section: that mix of personalities was either your highlight and there were lots of laughs, or they were miserably low achievers and their "no homework show" became a class joke. Aaahhh, memories.

That's why next Tuesday, I've invited all seniors who've ever taken French to come on over for a crepe night. They will build their own with sugar and lemon, Nutella, peanut butter, powdered sugar, strawberries or bananas and Nutella, etc... It should be fun and I hope a lot of them come to hang. There are 24!!

Next week, we will also find out more about numbers for next year so that we have an idea about teaching assignments. I know I'll have at least 2 section of level 3 and 1 section of AP.... but that doesn't make me full time. I need 1 more section of something (and I hope it's not level 4!). Actually, I'm more nervous that they're going to ask me to create a new class, just like that. But that's all for later. Right now, it's Saturday night, the beginning of my weekend.
