"You're going to feel very sleepy, very sleepy...."

I wish I could hire a hypnotist tonight. I'm afraid I won't sleep well enough, like last night. Even Matthew had a restless night from all of his school stress.

Tomorrow, I'll be teaching at 8am for my second interview, which means I have to be there 20 minutes early to calm myself and get prepared, which means I have to leave 15 minutes earlier to beat the traffic and not get lost (again), which means I have to have everything ready to go tonight (including lunch and dinner packed), which means I'm going to need to wake up before the birds start chirping outside our bedroom, which also means I should set more than one alarm.

I will have 11 students in French 3 Honors. I've only been given 30 minutes--thank goodness! And of all the lessons to teach and all the lessons to be learned, this class just HAD to be right in the middle of... you guessed it, folks, the subjunctive. Why, WHY?!?

It's not totally new to them and yet they haven't mastered it, so they're right in the middle, right in the trickiest part of the lesson. Since I'm in the dark on where they are exactly, I thought my best approach would be a quick review then lots of activities practicing all the different skills. I'm starting with a tongue twister ('motivation and hook' as the education teacher experts call it), which I've been trying to practice at work. You try it: "Je veux et j'exige; j'exige et je veux."
