Update!

Thanks all for the comments and encouragement from last post. It's interesting how a few days and hashing out some thoughts on the blog can give you new perspective. The other day, while I was giving Kent some major tickles, I noticed two new upper molars! On one side, the whole thing broke through and on the other, two points are visible. I can't believe I hadn't noticed his new teeth! I guess I was focusing on his lower new canines. It all makes sense now: the middle of the night wakings, the clingy-ness, the need to be held, the crankiness and maybe even the need for me to feed him - comfort perhaps? Well, as long as that lasted, it's suddenly over now! The rest of this week has been a breeze with him, so perhaps the worst of the teething pain is over.

PLUS - this morning he slept in until 6:45 am!!!! Since I knew his internal clock was all messed up and pretty much stuck at 5 or 5:30, I woke him up at 3:30 (also changed his diaper - stupid disposable malfunction) and he just looked at me and stayed quiet, then fell asleep again. The next thing I knew, Matt woke me up and said "hey! it's 6:30!" Crazy.

This is what a happy kid looks like - just waiting for his eggs to cool, rolling around on the floor and talking about his plans for the day.

  1. Oh I am so glad Kent is more like his normal sweet self!! I roll around and babble on the floor when I'm happy too!

  2. Oh thank goodness! Glad happier times are upon you. I had something similar happen with Henry where I noticed upper molars poking through one day and it was like Ohhhhh, that's why you've been such a crank ;)
