Plymouth then and now

Yesterday we went to Plymouth to see the Pirates come ashore and pick fights with the Pilgrims.

We missed the canon shots, but we did visit the Mayflower Society House (1754) where they set up tents and demonstrations. We met some privateers and Kent chased after a dog. I have no pictures for fear he would break an antique or jump on a bed!!

We met up with some friends, whose sons call Kent their American cousin. Kent attempted to say their names for the first time, which was so cute. He's trying hard to say names, even around the dorm, but sometimes he gets mixed up. For example, one boy always rides a skateboard but Kent calls every skateboarder "Scott" now.
They each wanted to push his stroller (he was asleep coming out of the car) or hold his hand.

On a side note, the economy must not be so bad since we witnessed this Pilgrim park her red mustang and feed the meter.....

In 2020, Plymouth is having a huge event to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the Mayflower's landing. They are already selling sweatshirts and stickers and other paraphernalia... I thought holiday decorations were out too early, but this takes the cake!
