Since Kent looooves water and has recently learned how to splash in puddles, I knew I had to get him some boots. I went to the consignment store with super low expectations, but what do ya know: in the shoe bin there was ONE pair of rain boots. They happened to be in his size, aaaand with a dog on it. Perfect! Even better was that it was 75% off, so the pair costs me $3. Cha-ching!!
After struggling to get the darn things on his fat feet, we ventured outside on this very spring-like day. Ha.
Seriously, it's like we're back in January. The crocuses and daffodils are dead, buried in snow. The buds on the trees are frozen over. It's depressing.
Minutes after these too-deep puddles, he fell in the muddy water which also filled his boots.
In an entirely new outfit (and new diaper) and dry shoes, we explored the campus and watched the sailing team.
We checked out the pebbles first.
Then we saw the boats.
And once Kent pointed them out to me, he was off!
Oh, and he calls his boots "butt" because he says them in French (les bottes) and that's what it sounds like to the Anglophones.

He is so cute! Papy

ReplyDeleteJealous of your $3 boot score! I've been on the lookout for a pair for Henry. And how cute is KENT!! That puddle is his own personal ocean :). Sending warm sunshine your way, though...
ReplyDeleteWhat a "cool" mommy to let Kent splash! Such deep puddles! He is really clear on the "g" in "dog" and I love his butts....all three!
