Fussy time

I've read that there's no magic solution to fussy time, and where one technique might work one night might not the next. The last few nights, we've sung as many VBS songs as we could remember and Kent loved it!!

Yesterday, Kent became calm and fascinated by the high contrast pattern of my new tea towel (thanks Mom!).

Later, we put him on the floor because we've learned that sometimes he just wants to be left alone. Immediately, the screaming stops and he's as cool as a cucumber. This time, though, Matt played his guitar and he seemed to enjoy it. Matt walked by and Kent turned his head! Matt didn't see it until a few minutes later... he walked by again and sure enough, Kent followed his Daddy so attentively! (not shown in video)

Kent will most surely be a child prodigy.
