Aaaannnd again.

School is cancelled for Wednesday too. My girls are SO bored. They've watched enough TV and been on Facebook so long that their eyeballs have turned to squares.

Don't get me wrong: I am not complaining. I know thousands of people are going through some very tough times, and don't have heat. I'm also praying for those workers who are busy trying to restore power every waking hour today and for the rest of the week.

Our dorm has a generator, but I don't know how long that will last, or how much fuel we have left. Most other dorms are power-less and have been visiting others to shower and power up their electronics. Several cell phone providers are down, including mine, so if you want to contact me, you'll have to email. The school survived the storm just fine. Only 3 big trees fell, all in the principal's yard. No major damage but the campus looks a little rough. We can't resume classes until all of the dorms (and academic buildings) have power and heat. I heard someone say that our grid could take 5 to 9 days before power is restored. Now, I'm not too sure that we'll have classes Thursday and Friday, but one can hope.

This might be the only time when teachers AND students are READY for classes to resume. I'm going to bask in that thought for a moment.

:)

Meanwhile, I'm sewing up a storm and if power goes out, I will knit. We'll probably organize a game night. I also hope the gym is on a generator so that the kids can work out and get some energy out!!

Thanks for all of your prayers!!

  1. How about teaching your girls to sew or knit? Perhaps get them started on scarfs?
