What a blur!

This week has been so full. I'm surprised I can even put two sentences together coherently. Whew. Thank you God for getting me through these tough times. All I need is to copy paste His grace and energy for the next 4 weeks.

On my birthday, Matt was so sweet: he got up early and killed tried to shoo away the annoying bird that has consistently woken me up with 3 high pitched chirps ever since early April. He starts right around 5:30 and ends FIVE minutes before my alarm goes off. Who knew pea-sized brains could be so punctual and bean-sized beaks be so loud? I am planning on climbing his tree and chirping loudly to his nest between 5:00 and 5:25 next week.

Matt went out and got pain au chocolat for us for my birthday breakfast. It was a tough day at work, so I will skip that part, then I came home to a clean kitchen and 5 special truffles from a fancy local chocolate store here. The rest of the evening, I worked and answered my phone from all of the special people in my life. I am told to watch for the mailman since he will be bringing part 2 of my present. Since it's such a busy time for the both of us, I think our real celebrations will be when summer rolls around.

On Saturday night, my school held its annual auction (run by the parents' association). They have a different theme every year, tables and tables of donations to bid on, several BIG donations that an auctioneer auctioned off, and a fabulous dinner! We sat with my lunch table friends and their husbands, and spent the evening talking to Bob who was an astronaut!! He was on the space shuttle before the Challenger. One night, he spent the whole night looking outside the window at Earth. So cool. Ever since then, he and his wife have been invited all over the world to astronaut type events and special dinners and conferences. They were even invited to the white house to celebrate 20 years since the moon landing, and they met Bush senior! They met Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin! Wow. Aside for being famous, this couple was so fun. They've been married 40 years and neither me nor Matt could believe how well the two get along and how much chemistry they (still) have! It was like they were half their age and still in the newly married stage.

Hope we turn out to be like them too after 40 years!
