Looking ahead

I just realized that the month of May is going to be CRAZY for us. We will be running to catch up with time. Time is going to be so rare that crafting is going to feel like a far away dream and brushing teeth is going to have to be reduced to 2 minutes. I will have a red pen permanently attached to my right hand, and I will sleep in work clothes. I might even hire a maid and a cook! Maybe we'll even drop a few pounds from the stress!

Matt will be working overtime on his dissertation proposal. He's started writing it (13 pages), but he'll want to revise it and tweak it as he continues working through his reading list. May is the last month of school and teachers generally scramble to shove the rest of their curriculum down kids throats. Meanwhile, students are SO DONE with school and spend their afternoons on center campus just lounging and playing frisbee. It's a busy time with athletics so kids are missing classes left and right for games, tournaments and finals... it's tough on the class atmosphere and hard for us to keep track of their missed work.

The first two weeks of May, I'll be solely focused on getting my AP students ready for their exam (the 15th). Afterwards, I don't even care what we do as long as it doesn't make my life busier. The last two weeks, I'll be busy getting students ready for exams (which I still have to create). For two weeks, we will be housing a colleague of Matt's who has been in France for the last two years. Immediately after him, a friends of Matt's is visiting for a week--yay! Together, we'll make plans to visit other friends in NYC. That'll be really fun, but tough to balance with a 6 day work week.

I can't wait until June 1st... If we don't make it out alive, you'll know what happened to us....
