Long awaited visit...

Here's what we've been doing over the last couple of weeks:
We took them around town:

We had Chritmas together. Dad especially loved his sweatshirt and Mom had a great time spending her gift cards at the best local ice cream shops.

We went to NYC for two days and stayed in an affordable hotel not far from Time Square. It never got higher than freezing the whole weekend. We saw lots and lots of sites, ate great food, bothered people to take our picture, walked about 22 kilometers, and were seen on TV! Matt got on the Today show and waved to the camera. My sister Sarah, back in Texas eating her breakfast, saw him and waved back. Ever since, I've been regretting my decision to sleep in under the warm heavy covers... Oh well, next time!
Time Square

In the subway

On a boat headed to Staten Island, passing right by Ellis Island. The city behind us.

Mom and I with the Statue of Liberty

Restaurant "Pigalle"

Matt in front of the NYC library

The Empire State building that we didn't ascend because it was simply too expensive.

Yes, we got free tickets to this show. Not our favorite and this particular episode wasn't anything spectacular (a little vulgar even), but we were able to see how a show was filmed. AND since we were in the fourth row from the front, dead center, we got on TV when the camera panned the crowd!! We have the DVD to prove it.

A cool burger joint Matt found.

My AWESOME homemade French baguette that I made on my day off to go with Dal (lentil stew with curry)

The last day trip with my parents was in New Hope, PA and Lambertville, NJ

We LOVED hosting my parents, showing them around and simply spending time with them. We miss you already and we've cleared our calendar for your next visit!
