This kid is sick.
I've never been stretched this much - my energy, my self-sacrifice, my sleep, my patience were tried more than they've ever been in the last 24 hours. I would rather go through labor and delivery again. Even the newborn days were easier than this. Poor little guy. A bad cold came out of nowhere and hit him hard last night. He went to sleep at 7 pm, then woke up at 8 with snot everywhere - he was coughing and sneezing and very upset. He cried for most of the night, sleep totaling around 4 hours maybe? I couldn't believe it and I so wished I could take away his pain and congestion. Today, he took 2 two hour naps (so did I!!!) and those were GIFTS. The rest of the day had a lot of tears and whining and clinging. He doesn't have much of an appetite and this afternoon he spiked a fever that hovered around 99-100 degrees. Luckily for drugs, it came down a bit. It's 7:22 and he's already woken up twice, crying and uncomfortable since I put him to bed at 6:30.
A special thank you to Pat and Fred who gave us the humidifier and the medication and the saline spray this summer. A special shout out to Kara who gave him Vapo bubble bath which we've used twice today already. Thanks to everyone who's been praying and let's hope for more rest tonight so his immune system can fight it off.
It's crazy - all of my sisters-in-law and sister have had sick kids and I used to say "I'm so sorry! How awful." and I meant it of course. But there's a huge difference once you know. Now, I'm like "I'M SOOOOOO SORRY. HOW AWFUL!!!"
