Kent has figured out he has a will. He's also figured out how to express said will. He has an angry yell when he's frustrated and he bursts into tears when you say, "no Kent, no touching, that's dangerous." It's all be fun and games since he was born, and now we have to be real parents and exercise real parenting skills. Luckily, every one of you have had children of all kinds of personalities, so you have all the answers!! :)
Everything is a toy, especially Papa's stuff. I love this series of photos:
ONE of Kent's top teeth FINALLY broke through and is slowly making its way down. I hope the other comes down fast otherwise he's going to look really funny with just three teeth. There's no way I could get a good picture, especially this sick week. Here's an out-take that sorta shows it:
Other random highlights:
-We've had a couple of play dates with new friends, some boys, some girls. And he's done well (too well) when we drop him off at the nursery at church and at MOPS. Sniff, sniff!
-He's learned how to drink out of a straw cup this month.
-We went to the tailor's to get Papa's pants fixed. The tailor was a really, really old Italian man with a thick accent on his English. Now, for a while, Kent hasn't been handing out smiles to total strangers. Instead, he just looks at them and tries to figure out if they are trustworthy. Well, as soon as the tailor started talking in that heavily Italianized English, Kent was ALL GIGGLES and smiles. He couldn't get enough of what the guy was saying - English or Italian, he thought it was amazing. If only I had it on video... too funny! Looks like we'll have to go back to Italy for his sake :)
He still likes to sit in my lap and read books (I'll take it while it lasts!!), and just recently, he enjoys playing with his books and kind of turning the pages. I LOVE his bedhead in this picture:
His favorite activity is still MOVING, and especially pulling himself up.
And then just yesterday.... THIS!!! Frankenstein steps!!

I can't get over how cute he is!! (I loved the bedhead picture too!) AND THOSE BABY STEPS!!!! Watch out world, Kent is on the MOVE :)
ReplyDeleteAmazing how quickly Kent is growing! I love his smiles, his bright eyes, and yes, his bed head! And I bet he takes his first steps when we are there! Wouldn't that be fun!! He giggles when he hears Italian because he remembers it from his early days in the womb!!!! XXOO, Nana
ReplyDeleteOh, and I don't know what game Kent was playing with that racket, but I think he lost!
