Kent got his wings!

Kent and I had a FABULOUS time in San Diego at my sister's house. Yesterday, it snowed several inches. Boo! We should have stayed longer in that 70, 80 and 90 degree weather...

Thanks to our air miles, we were given a day's pass to the secret airline lounge where there was free food and drinks. It was on the third floor. I didn't even know there was a third floor!!
(for the life of me, I just can't seem to upload them the right way... they are the right way in my files!!)
It was so quiet and serene and comfortable. We were there an hour (chowing down, yeah!) before boarding.

The flight was direct and Kent slept like a champ after scaring all the passengers with high pitched screams as he thrashed his little body everywhere (he was hungry). Originally, we had a middle seat and I was waiting for our neighbors to arrive before I nursed him (hence the freak out), but a kind college-aged girl offered her window seat across the aisle. Bless her little heart.

Everybody got some snuggles with Kent.

Uncle Max got a smile right away. Aunt Sarah loved to hold the snuggle bug when her own two were distracted or sleeping. They weren't jealous per se, but they definitely wanted to play with the same infant toys. Kent LOVED watching his cousins. He was very curious to see everything they were doing.

Panda finally got to meet her third great-grandson and she was thrilled that he was so smiley and chatty and alert.

We did a couple of outings.
To Balboa Park where we enjoyed seeing the gardens. Kent slept through--boys don't care so much for flowers.
 San Diego was so bright!

To the beach a few times:

Papy and Henry tried to feed the seagull who kept flying to the right then to the left of them. Henry was delighted.
It was SO GOOD to have sister time (each with our giant diaper bags) to catch up, swap stories and watch our sons play together.
Papy rockin his new hat:

At another beach, the 90 degree weather made Kent sleepy, but I insisted that he touch the Pacific ocean.
Every time I put his feet in, he pulled up his legs, little stinker!

To the pool: Kent was awake for about 15 minutes and we sat on the steps while I sprinkled pool water on him (too cold for baby!), and then it was his nap time. This was my view:
Henry "swam" in his floater thing.
William was a pro!

During the week, Kent really started babbling quite a bit. Matt was on the phone with me one day and he couldn't believe what he was hearing!

Kent got really good at reaching and grabbing dangling toys to put them in his mouth. He brings everything up to his mouth, including blankets. His fists are red and rough from all of his chewing!

He also rolled over from front to back while he was thrashing around in his crib the night before we flew home. I couldn't get him back to sleep for 2+ hours and I was about to go crazy, but at least I got to witness it. He hasn't done it since, but he pushes his pelvis up using his legs, so we'll see.

  2. I miss Kent's beautiful smiles and his wonderful babbling!! He is too cute! These photos are great. Sure wish Matt could have been with us. So glad the trip home was uneventful. I guess with all that snow the sunshine must seem like a dream! Big hugs from Nana
