When I started knitting, I told myself I would never make a sweater. I don't know why, but I think I just had a bad image in my head.
Well, I found a great tutorial on a fitted cardigan, and I went for it. Yes, I was nervous, and yes, there is 1 mistake. I worried that it would be too bulky, too wide, too tight in weird places (like the armpit), or whatever. But I persevered and followed the directions, although I am more confident now that I know how to change the pattern to make it fit better.
Here it is!!
I wore it to school today and bragged about it to all my students and fellow knitting friends. My students were like, "wait, you MADE that?" It totally boosted my self esteem. Some of them even asked me to make them one!
For a first adult-sized sweater, I'm really happy about it, even though next time, I would follow the XS pattern (rather than S) and I would make it a little shorter. Also, this yarn was Wool-Ease which is mostly acrylic and a little wool. I'd like to find good-priced, better quality yarn for other sweaters.
