Recycle and Reuse

Last week, we were in charge of snacks for our weekly graduate student Christian fellowship group. We wanted to go with the whole Fall season theme, so I made chocolate and pumpkin cupcakes, brought apple cider and spiced cookies. Matt, of course, wanted to have chips too (a Fall season eye sore, to me really).

So there we were, getting the snacks ready after the lesson concluded, when Matt goes straight for the chips and starts eating right out of the bag (while holding it). So I say, "Matt! Put those down: they're not all for you!"

A few moments later, while I'm chatting with a friend, I suddenly hear a soft, chip-sounding crash. I spin around, just to see Matt, wide-eyed with a thick guilty look on his face, and the chip bag contents all over the carpeted floor. "Oh no" was what we were both thinking. Matt goes straight for the "poor chips" and starts putting them in an empty box, saying "I'll clean up, I'll clean up."

Sure, he's "cleaning up," but I know exactly where those chips are going next. And it's not in the trash...

  3. What hypocrisy! You can't tell me that Sarah doesn't have a floor chip now and then. Have you stopped kissing her?
