He speaks!

It's incredible how much talking is exciting for Kent. He can say "dog" and "cat" sort of. He says pacifier in French "tee-tah" (for tétine), and he'll say it a lot when he's tired and knows we're starting the bedtime routine. But by far his most favorite word is "ball". Seriously, he will find a ball and exclaim "BALL!" if there's one within eye-sight. It's incredible. Forget "where's Waldo" books. We need that same one with balls. This morning, for example, the first word when he woke up was "ball!" as if he was requesting one to play with - immediately.

Just today, he sat on the potty after lunch and he pooped. As his recent custom, he stands up and turns around to look at it, smiling. Seriously, he's so proud of it. He'll walk away toward the tub or to bang on the lid of the big toilet, then come back to his potty to see if it's still there, and he grins. This time, he stood up, turned around and said "BALL!". Well, buddy, today your poop was a little bit rounder than usual, but it is most certainly not a ball to play with.

Dear Lord, let me never catch him reaching in for it.

Over the weekend, he started saying "nana" for "banana", not his Nana (sorry Mom!). It's so fun to see him learn new words, especially food. The only problem is that now he's going to really start requesting demanding food. Check out what he did here that surprised us all:
This is why they invented pantries with doors.

  1. Amazing that Kent talks so well so soon! He will be so mixed up though, when I get there. I often call myself "Nana banana"
