Anywho, I'm even more confused because Kent's been having the worst sleep - waking up at 3 or 4 am and not being able to comfort himself back to sleep unless I'm rocking him. I think it's a combination of his cold and his molars coming in. You can see them break through the skin but they are not fully out. Kent can get more sleep in the morning, but I have to be awake. How I wish I could sleep while rocking but without dropping him!! Thankfully, Matt's been my hero: getting Kent diapered, dressed and fed while I snooze a little more once the sun is up.
Speaking of which, we had the most incredible sun rise last week.
We joined the local gym, where Kent got his most recent cold and I tortured by body with lots of great classes. I look forward to going back this week, but the extreme fatigue is not that motivating.
Kent has been saying Papa and he knows exactly what he's saying. I tried in vain to get him to go back to sleep in bed with us in the wee hours of the morning one day and it worked for 10 seconds before Kent sat up and shouted PAPA!
I made a non-toxic playdoh for Kent, which he kind of liked. He thought the texture was weird at first, but then he enjoyed ripping up the playdoh snakes I rolled, or squishing the balls (which he requested!).
He also requests kisses (bisous in French). In the most adorable way, he tilts his forehead towards us and waits expectantly. Remember this when you see him so you know what to do. This particular morning, I believe we were all up since 3 am. We needed a lot of bisous.
Kent also loves dancing to his new French CD. Here he is rocking out. The pauses and sudden serious face was him reacting to Papa's dance moves behind me, and the camera.
On Monday, there was a blizzard (see the drift out the window on our deck?) so we stayed inside and tried to entertain a grumpy teething tired boy. We broke out the warm water play and he scooped water out of the container and onto his legs until there was practically no more water left. It was a great game and it got my floor mopped!
Hope you all are having a good week.

Oh my goodness, oh my goodness! I am dying of cute overload over here!!! I wanna bisous...lots! And the dancing, so so precious! So sorry about the teething and colds. Do I dare say, "this too shall pass?" Don't hit me! Funny Kent should say Papa before Mama. You've been usurped! Hugs from Nana.
ReplyDeleteAdorable!! Love how he asks for kisses! And he's saying "papa" so clearly! I couldn't get enough of the dancing video- so precious and I'm a little jealous because our boys REFUSE to dance!! Thanks for sharing these. I hope Kent gets to feeling better and sleeping longer!
