Kent did better than I expected on the plane aside from trying to climb the seats in front of us and pull people's hair... He refused his pacifier for the take off and landing which made me nervous, but the air pressure didn't bother him this time (fingers crossed for next week!). We played with flash lights and a curly ribbon, but it was a window gel cling (1 piece of the whole picture you could create) that fascinated him for a loooonng time. I was delighted. Dinner was next, then the awkward attempt at "rocking" him to sleep in my arms without pulling one of my muscles or bashing his head on the arm rest or the plane wall. He woke up just before our descent into Las Vegas, then he was awake for 4 hours during the layover and part of the next flight. Kent stayed asleep as we met up with my sister who drove us to her house and he slept until 6 am!!! His naps have been right on schedule too and he's sleeping 2+ hours!!
Maybe we should just move to CA?
We've had lots of fun on the playground, on walks, in the house, with cousins, chasing and petting dogs and eating delicious food. It's Matt's first time to this part of CA and he's loving it. The hills, the cliffs and the setting sun over the Pacific are gorgeous.
Bath time with 3 boys is also memorable! The first time we bathed them, Kent was standing and playing with the faucet (as usual) while William and Henry were playing with the bubbles and toys. Because Kent's rear end was at eye level to Henry (23 mo), Henry decided to scoop up some foam and lather Kent's butt cheeks with it. SO FUNNY. Sarah and I died laughing and immediately took a million pictures. He was really going at it, rubbing clockwise like he was washing windows!!
The boys left a note for Santa along with cookies and carrots for the reindeer. Waaaayyyy too early the next morning, their eyes basically popped out of their heads when they saw the mountain of gifts from Santa and the family! It's incredible how much enthusiasm little kids can have present after present after present. It's like a never-ending well! Kent had a great time with a few toys. He mostly crawled around and enjoyed everyone's presence, but the crowd and activity sure wore him out. On Christmas day, he napped for 2 hours and 50 minutes - a new record!!!
We have much to be thankful for this season: vacation time, precious family, good health, the opportunity to travel, new memories, good mechanics who kept us safe from a potentially deadly car accident (we brought it in for a check up and learned of major frame issues that rendered the car unsafe to drive), generous family members regarding car shopping, and most of all: the birth of Jesus 2000+ years ago. Merry Christmas!

It was sooo fun to have you here! (And yes, you should move to CA. No brainer! And think how cheap it would be to vacation in Mexico!!) We all miss you already. The boys were sad to see the third carseat go, but were excited to see the applesauce Kent had left behind for them :). I was a little sad to only see two little butts in the bathtub last night ;) Thanks again for flying out!!!
