Santa

The next town over had a big event today with live music, free food, and Santa! He came to town on a firetruck. The sirens were pretty loud and Kent was slightly overwhelmed.

 But content, too.
We stood in line to meet Santa. Kent just wanted to crawl around, so I entertained him by bouncing him around to the beat of the Christmas music that the performers (and I) were singing and I got a good workout.
As much as Kent loves people, it's got to be on his terms. It is really strange to think about putting a kid in a strange person's lap and hoping he'll be happy about it. I think if Santa was clean shaven, that might have been a better experience. He couldn't see Santa's jolly smile!

The giant Adirondack chair was a big hit. Look how small he looks!
 He did a little dance.

We also waited in line to get some free goodies - local vendors were giving away sweets and chowder and hot chocolate and cookies, etc. There were other tents for crafts and face painting - next year!
We met up with our friends and their boys. They love each other.

It's not as bad on Timothe's back to walk around with Kent.

Tomorrow there's the same kind of event in OUR town. I wonder if Kent will be more or less scared of Santa this time around....
