A quarter of a year old!

Kent is 3 months old!

I remember being so frazzled in his first 3 weeks of life, so tired and anxious, and so frustrated with breastfeeding. A friend sympathized with me saying that it's really, really hard now, but once he's 2, 3, and 4 months old, everything will be better and Kent will be more interactive and playful and fun. She was right!

Kent is way more interactive now than even last month. He's looking around, curious about everything--even the TV! Oh no! He still loves lights and faces a lot. I find him staring at patterns on clothing or toys, taking it all in very seriously. He likes it when I sing to him. He gets bored sitting on laps too much so you have to walk around a lot. Luckily, the dorm is a great place to walk (and warm too!). Kent and I go for walks outside on occasion (when the sun is out) and he sleeps so soundly in the fresh and cold air, all bundled up. I think he'll like camping.

When he's laying down under his activity mat, he stretches his neck so far (to look at what's 'behind' his head) that it seems like it's detached from his shoulders! Kent loves to talk back and forth with anyone who is willing and he smiles a ton! He recently is grabbing at things, like a drawstring on his pants or a buckle.... is it deliberate? still not 100% sure, but he's got them in his hands and no one put them there! When I feed him a bottle at night, his ninja grip on my finger leaves it numb, or his fists push on my hand like he's saying "more! more!". I don't have his current weight yet, but it's clear he's growing. Tomorrow is his doctor's appointment.

Drooling is his new favorite pass time, as well as chewing on his fingers. He's going to have to start wearing a bib because his onesies get soaked! I wonder when his first tooth will pop through. He also loves to make a billion bubbles on his lips by sticking his tongue in and out and in and out. Similarly, he sucks in his bottom lip in and blows it out really fast over and over again. It's his new toy.

He doesn't like being woken up from naps*, and he will scream bloody murder if you change his diaper (after said interrupted nap) before feeding him. *I don't let him nap over 2 hours (and he usually doesn't). When he eats, he extends his arm up over his head, like he's protecting his food.

Now that he's bigger, it's been more fun to dress him for the day since he has so many cute clothes! Thanks Mom!

And as cute as he is dressed, he's even cuter naked!
We love you little guy!
