There was lots of hanging around, lots of much-needed catching up.
There was lots of kid play.
There was plenty of eating. It's not a real family reunion until you cram 17 people sitting/standing around folding tables!
And then my sisters-in-law and mother-in-law threw me the best baby shower!
My mother-in-law started with a devotional. She highlighted the importance of knowing your child and of disciplining and training him so that he can grow up knowing right from wrong and follow the Lord. Afterwards, I told the story of our scare in losing the baby and learning that God has everything in His able hands without any of my help. In no time, I had everyone blubbering and red-eyed.
There was a station where people could write verses, song lyrics or advice.
The table was set for tea and delicious finger foods!
Val made the cutest origami diapers as party favors.
We played the game where you cut out parts of me and Matt's faces to re-create what you think the baby will look like. Hilarious. They will be kept in the baby book for sure. Maybe even framed in his room!!
Coming home was hard because we loved being all together. It's crazy to think that the next time we see everyone, we'll be a family of three! And this time, it'll be *us* with the trunk-load of baby gear, the burp cloth on our shoulder, *our* stinky diaper to deal with, and *our* sleepy red eyes from too little sleep.
But won't it be worth it when we see this adorable face??
Or maybe he'll look like this:
Or maybe this?
Or maybe he'll have a monkey face?
We'll love you no matter what, little baby!

Looks like it was a blast! The shower looked so fun and special. The baby mashup pictures were HILARIOUS! Can't wait to see what that precious little boy will actually look like :)
