In May, I was given a HUGE trash bag of leftover fabric that a colleague's mother no longer wanted. It was all fancy sheer fabric and I thought: "man, what am I going to do with this? Obviously, she must have made all kinds of fancy dresses for her granddaughters. Too bad it's not cotton. I would have more use for cotton." I nearly gave it away.
Glad I didn't!!
I've been spending the last few days making all kinds of beautiful sheer half curtains, all with FREE FABRIC!
The living room has red splashes in the carpet and the throw pillows, and I had *just* enough red sheer fabric to make 3 curtains.
In the kitchen, I had one piece of cream-colored fabric that was just right.
In the earth-toned bedroom, I have two matching golden squares that will be just enough for the two windows.
In the guest room, I had so much fabric in a cool orange metallic color scheme that I decided to make longer curtains.
It's not that orange.
The baby's room has nothing yet, but I'm thinking of green ones to offset the blue and white.
At night, since the sheers don't do their job, we just close the tacky plastic roll down shades.
That's a lot of sewing, but it's easy and fast. Gotta get to it while I have time and free hands!

How fun! It all looks great! Happy sewing! XXOO Mom
