Running and Traveling

Today I went back to my cross country team. My hip had been fine and feeling great, but it's sore after the workout. I suppose that's normal. I remind myself of my Dad, laying on the couch with ice. Since the team has a race tomorrow, today was an "easy" day: 35 to 45 minutes of light running. I ran with my buddy Cassie and we did different loops around campus. I'm happy to report that I was successful in continuing to run, without stopping.

In other news, last night was my informational meeting for the spring trip to France. I had an okay turnout of 10 kids, 6 of whom brought their parent. I really hope it can work out, but they had so many tough questions that I didn't anticipate, that I fear I looked unprepared. It's hard to communicate: "Hey, I know I look much younger than I am, but please trust me with your son or daughter. I really am responsible. Really!"

I woke up at 5:30 from a dream where I was responsible for kids somewhere off campus (Mexico?). I couldn't fall back to sleep.

Parents will always be parents and worried about the what ifs. I even had some say: "We know we can trust our own child, but it's the other students from other schools that we don't know." I remember my own parents saying that. So, I give it one more week and once I see the enrollment numbers, we'll either move forward, or Matt and I will start making our own plans to PAR-TAY!!

  1. So glad you're able to move again! Hope you don't push quite so hard and give yourself time. (Can't help the mommy advice!!) I think those parents will trust you a bit more once you sprout some more of that grey hair!! hehehehe XXOO Mom
