That evening, we all went to a Alsacian restaurant called "La Tarte Flambee" that Matt found online. John and Leanna had never had them before, so it was a fun experience. We got the "Traditionnelle" the "Biquette" and the "Munster" tartes, then the "Calva" for dessert... that's the one that they light on fire. Of course, my photo didn't turn out (stupid indoor lighting and my own lack of experience).
At about 9 pm we went to the Taste of France event in Bryant Park, but everything was closed... EXCEPT one Macaron display. We all bought one.
It said online that it was open until 11 pm. Bummer. So we went back to their apartment and hung out.
We slept in until 8:30 the next morning--it was a beautiful experience to sleep that much. After a great church on living out your faith publicly, we went back to Bryant Park where we found lots of activity: displays everywhere on everything (tourism, technology, literature, beauty), Clarins samples and "mini-makeovers", L'Oreal samples, tea samples, and cheese samples.
That's where we got our lunch: a baguette and some brie cheese!
That afternoon, we went back to John and Leanna's to relax before heading home. Since it was a perfect day, we had to go up to the top floor of their building to get some awesome pictures.
There you have it: a weekend with friends!

How fun! Thanks for sharing. XOXO dad
