I've been working all morning for tomorrow's yard sale. I asked several of my friends if they wanted to join me so that we could make the sale look really good. So far, only a few people told me they had "stuff" and I haven't seen them yet today. Hope they come through this evening... you know how much I hate last minute stuff. I made 10 signs with bold letters--my pet peeve is people who make signs no one can read!--and posted them all over the place at strategic entrances, etc. It can be complicated to navigate when all houses look the same.
This afternoon, a girl named Leah with her dog Barney (!) knocked on my door to ask about the yard sale. She said my signs were cute. She wasn't interested in buying; she wanted to set up shop with me! Yay! What's even better is that she's got some really great stuff: washer, AC unit, bike, couch, and random extras. Those items will really set off my lame stuff.
This evening, it rained--a complete random hard rain shower. Just checked on my signs and they are OK. Gotta love sharpies.
On another note: my luck has been fantastic today. I don't want to over-spiritualize things, but I have no other logical explanation for this. Since we're changing up our living room look and colors, I've been thinking about seating arrangement and how/where to find the best accent chairs to face the tan couch. (Our current pink armchair has to go.) Everything so far has been too expensive, used, and usually clashes with the look I'm going for (like big bright florals). I had my eye on some random bright white kitchen chairs that I thought I could buy cushions for. I didn't love them, but I was trying to make it work (cream would have been better).
So, on my way to the laundry building, I spotted The Chair. The cushion was a disaster: ripped, stained, burned? So I chucked it. Now begins my hunt for the perfect (red) cushion.
What do you think?

You are incredible!!! Happy red-cushion hunting!!! It's going to look GREAT! P.S. Check out the fabric stores for material to cover an existing cushion, if that works. OR sometimes thrift stores can have curtain panels in excellent shape that can be cut up for your fabric! Been there, done that! Love you!
