[Internet was down for a week--scroll down to read more posts]
I'm starting a new tradition at work: treats during the non-payday week. This week was treat #2 and it's going over quite well, as expected.
I made my secret recipe for muffins or cupcakes or whatever they really are: delicious goodness! (I have to say that they were not my creation, but from a friend back in Syracuse from Book Club. Miss you ladies!!) Well, I made both the pumpkin and chocolate ones, which was great for two important reasons: we were officially in Autumn, and this school's colors are orange and black! :) My coworkers loved them, especially when I revealed they contained no egg and no oil/butter. My manager Lisa called me a liar, and for the rest of the day, proceeded to pressure and trick me into giving her the recipe. She had everyone else ask me for her, but I was too smart for that. Of course I didn't give in: that would be too easy and kill the fun.
My other manager Larry was almost uncomfortable at my kindness, so he asked (jokingly?) if I was hiding some terrible fact about myself, like I "ate puppies or something".
This is all very silly and strange to me. It's as if kindness and generosity are foreign to them. It shows me how much we all need a little love, for the simple sake of love! How can you demonstrate love today?

Good thing he didn't realize that in fact it's little kitties you eat!! By the way, about that recipe? Could I have it? I don't have canned pumpkin but I can always cook one down! Love you, Mom
ReplyDeleteI think you should post the recipe. Don't worry, we won't tell your co-workers. :o)
ReplyDeleteCorrie, I believe I've already sent it to you. I called them "two ingredient muffins" I think.
