Is that your phone ringing?

Well, that long-awaited for phone call finally came.

It couldn't have been at a worse time, too.

All week, I've made sure my phone was fully charged and in my pocket, in addition to my two very important pieces of paper--filled with questions, notes, strengths and weaknesses, names of managers and assistant managers. All week I was prepared, and the second I wasn't, my phone rings. Gah!

So, we're are driving home from hanging out with Matt and Kara on their boat (more to come later), windows down and Rascal Flatts blasting from the stereo, when suddenly Matthew says: "Is that your phone?" Panicked, I start scrambling for it. It was in the back seat, under a folding chair that was doing its best to block me. The second I saw the number, I KNEW it was it. So, in a forced calm voice I answer it as sweetly and as customer-service-like as possible. Whew, I made it.

It was the P.U Store manager and he had some strange accent from NYC or the Bronx or something... Anyway, we chatted and I made sure that all my answers showed him that A. I was friendly, B. I was very eager for the position, and C. the pay/the hours/the fact that the job starts 2 weeks before we're scheduled to move was not a problem. I found out that this store is open from 9 to 9 and was straight retail. There are 3 shifts and he tries to schedule people giving them a variety so that no one is always stuck with one shift, particularly the late one. I would be working weekends. Bummer. But, I figured it might not be that bad considering Matt will be working all the time and weekends will only be a problem when scheduling family and friend gatherings. If my father-in-law can do it, so can I. We'll just find out what the holiday store closings are.

Our conversation wasn't too long, and I didn't get a chance to ask all of my questions, but he said he'd talk with his assistant ASAP(who's on vacation) and get back to me for sure by Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning. YIKES! Then, I'm sure I'll get all of my answers.

So who knows? Maybe this will work out, and maybe I'll have to get a fake tan so that I match my orange shirt. :)
