There were LOTS of animals. I pet as many of them as possible, especially the rabbits. It made me miss Oreo. :( Some of the pictures I took were purely because of the animals' odd looks.
The fluffiest rabbit.
We also saw a chainsaw artist. Snapped this picture before I got sawdust in my eyes and had to run away....
A silly scene from another carving display, this time with carvers using less dangerous tools.
There were lots of facts to be read and studied, but I was more interested in seeing and touching the animals, not really learning about raising them, feeding them, etc... Thankfully Matt didn't care so much either, but I did spot him collecting pamphlets from the animal owners and information tables... One thing we did learn was that pig farmers can't spell.
In addition to animals, there were ole' time tractors! I found the manliest one, and the cutest one.
Next, we found the building with all of the produce.
There were also displays of crafts, photography, art work, flower arrangements, table settings, antiques, jewerly... EVERYTHING! I've never seen so much in my life!
I insisted we eat a snack that was particularly "fair-ish" rather than the usual cotton candy, slushies, hot dogs, popcorn, covered almonds, etc... So, we split fried dough three ways. We didn't have much dinner later...
There were also lots of historical buildings with more displays. I found the history of bras. Very interesting. The brilliant designer came from New York! Her name was Mary Phelps Jacob and she invented it in the early 1900s. Thank you!
Behind the historical building were live displays, including a broom maker. He explained it all to us.
Then we walked into a redwood log turned into a house! I don't know what this guy's problem is...
We also walked through 2 or 3 buildings full of vendors--of EVERYTHING! Here's where we got lots of free samples: I got my rings cleaned, eadible samples, a free 1 minute massage to my lower back (which is often terribly sore), sample soap, and of course, we grabbed candy as often as possible from their candy bowls. :)
The whole day was super fun and I'm so glad Fred took us!
