I’m
still recovering from a headache, but everything went really well. The class
voted to have Prom at the aquarium, which is a fantastic venue because the
tables surrounded the dance floor: they snaked all around the portholes that
looked into the shark tank, there was food and dancing, and plenty of space to
roam about and get away from the pounding music (also: great make out spots!).
297 students paid to go, so we split into 7 charter busses and off we went!
Apparently, my bus was the PAHRty bus because they immediately requested
pounding music from the driver (who, I’m sure, was thrilled with the lyrics).
The hour ride was over quickly because I was checking out our new camera, a
great recommendation from my father-in-law. I’m so impressed already with all
of the cool features and the quick snapping!

Ok, let's be normal now:
Once we
got to the aquarium, I was sooo ready to eat, but because the fish were too
interesting to me (I might have embarrassed Matt once or twice), we ended up
being near the end of the line. The food was great: a caesar salad with garlic
bread sticks, tortellini with pesto sauce, broccoli, chicken parmesan and…. An
ice cream sundae bar with a billion toppings!!!! My stomach popped out for sure
last night.
Meanwhile,
between dinner and saying hello to the kids, Matt and I explored the fish tanks
and took all kinds of cool photos. There was an ENORMOUS sea turtle the size of
a boulder. Amazing. Didn’t get a picture because I was just too stunned. God is
so creative. Just look at these creatures:
"Pop art" setting: totally cool at an aquarium
The sea horse was SO tiny and so cute. I love these colors (and this camera!).
Tomorrow is Baccalaureate and Sunday is graduation. Everyone is wild and emotional here. It's a lot.

Fabulous pictures, Rebekah! I've got to think of some way to use 'em in my blog!!! That turtle looks like he is frowning or mad. And the watercolor of Matt? A little scary! Hope all goes well as you approach the last days of the year. Can't wait to see you!!!!! Hugs, Mom
