Blogger was having issues uploading a video, so I had to put it on YouTube.

Also, just ignore my "Hi, my name is Rebekah and I'll be taking care of you tonight" waitress-like voice. Can't tell you why that happened.
It took us about two days to get it all set up, then another day of me putsing around putting things here and there, and reorganizing everything. My favorite things: running the dishwasher (dishes were uber dirty from the newspaper I packed them in)
and doing laundry without stepping out of our house. A chore no more! I will say that I will miss putting our clothes out on a line.
The last few days have been a little blah for me, even though I've been busy organizing and planning a bunch of FUN sewing projects. I think I'm just feeling weird about moving onto my workplace and running into colleagues. I miss our last home and town (especially) because it's what I know. I don't like grocery shops here (vain problem, I know), but I'll have to get over it. Stress has also been in the back of my mind because I have work to do on my curriculum, and I'm starting to get work emails. A student just finished her spring term exam which I have to correct (if I can remember my point allocations!). I've been having strange nightmare-ish dreams too: I showed up for school forgetting that it was exam week, and my colleague "saved me" by copying an old exam and distributing it. But it turned out that it was full of information that I had never taught the students and they were discouraged and failed left and right.
I hope that never comes true.

Hey, your place is bigger and nicer than I had imagined! Thanks so much for doing the virtual tour!!! I wonder if you'll be getting a nice wicker laundry basket for that large bathroom? I think (for what it's worth) that having a LARGE wall hanging somewhere in the living area would add a lot of interest...or if not, to GROUP a lot of smaller ones in one spot. Just a thought. Have fun with all of it! I know you're up to the challenge! And I'll be praying that your new area will eventually grow on you! Love you soooo much, Mom
ReplyDeleteLoved the video, Shao-Shen! Can't believe that you were able to put it all together so quickly. Glad, too, that you finally have your own washer/dryer!
ReplyDeleteI leave tonight for Memphis to drop off the car there. I will take the Megabus to Nashville where I will be speaking on Sunday. I will fly back to OC from Nashville. Love you both. dad
