Ice skating

Our school has an ice rink and they have open skating on Sundays, but we still think Kent's a little too young. We're hoping for next winter at 3 years old. That'll also give us time to find some gently used ice skates at a good price.

Meanwhile, he knows all about ice skating from walking on the re-frozen melted ice all over our driveway and yard. It's all gone now, but last week that's all he wanted to do. Here are two videos of him. The first shows how difficult it is to take any picture or video because HE wants to do the picture taking and filming. It's so annoying and it's making me not capture anything anymore because I just don't want the whining.... SIGH.
Here he is "skating". It was in the 40s that day, but the wind was icy.
And when it's not in the 40s... we stay inside and sing songs.

Last weekend, the school put on Grease the musical. We got to watch a lot of the rehearsals and Kent was mesmerized by the lights and dancing and singing. He met more teenagers and one boy in particular is now Kent's new favorite friend. He looks for him everywhere we go and just wants to stare and smile at him when we do find him. He likes him so much that he tells me "Theo is a good dancer. Theo goes like this {insert dance move with his hands}." One day we walked out of the auditorium to meet up with Matt and Kent sang "Ready to love, ready to love, ready to love" all the way home. It took me a few moments to put two and two together: we had just watched the girls practice the scene and song "Freddy my love, Freddy my love, Freddy my love!"
