Kent and I are so proud of Matt and all that he's done over the past 6 years. Yesterday was his dissertation defense and he was poised, confident and clear. He even made his panel laugh several times as he summarized his work and offered some stories as examples. There was a long table with maybe 6-7 professors there. Three had read his work, others were there to listen and ask questions. On the side were other graduate students who were there to support him.
Luckily, Kent was good the whole time: he ate, burped (oops!), played quietly and kept turning his head to Daddy's voice.
Afterwards, there was the department end of the year dinner and everyone gave him a round of applause. What a fun night!
WOWWWW!!! What a huge landmark milestone :). Congratulations DOCTOR Sandefer! Well deserved! I hope you celebrate in a big BIG way! (PS: I love that family picture at the end!)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Matt! What a great accomplishment! I already respect Matt tremendously, but now......well, I just hope he doesn't forget the little people in his life! Great that Kent cooperated and you were able to be there to be a part of this momentous moment!!! Big hugs from Mom
