Life with a 1 year old.

Even though by January, I will be a aunt to 9 children--NINE kids--there's just nothing like living with one of them full time. And by "full time", I mean I didn't even *have* to get up at the crack of dawn and I didn't have to change diapers or put William to bed.

And still, I came back incredibly exhausted.

There was so much we did... Let me just recap with a photos.
My main job was sitting in the backseat with William to distract him from the Awful Terrible Car Rides. I entertained him with food and tickles and anything else. He is a good eater, but he didn't understand me when I kept telling him he had food on his lip.
William loves his feet. (in the background, Sarah doesn't like stupid drivers)
We visited Max's university and office. His views are spectacular.

This is just down the street. No big deal.

We enjoyed antiquing and walking around main street where all of the unique stores are located.

Matt and I would like to stay in this hostel next time.
William can't talk yet, but he's very good at pointing.
And he's learning to wave.

We went to Olde Town and walked through their historic sites and boutiques. Note: money trap.

William enjoyed reading to me. The kid's got talent: I can't even read upside down!
Sarah and Max had a dinner date so it was just me and William. I was a naughty auntie and let him play with his food. It was all his idea!! He's already taking up his dad's mad cooking skills!
Next, we went to Cabrillo National Monument. We saw some tide pools and learned a little about the history of San Diego. Again, spectacular views!

Finally, we went to see Grandma. She took us all out to dim sum. She was a natural with William and brought a special ribbon in her purse for him.

Finally, Grandma and I went to the beach to walk the pier. The sun through the clouds made the water look like silver silk. It was beautiful.

Had a great time. I miss everyone so much already!

Little William, in no time, you're going to be a big brother!!
