Christmas is coming...

We had our first snowfall yesterday. It was beautiful to watch from the warmth of the store; it was a different story when I had to scrape the heavy slush off of the car, but exciting nonetheless. There were some athletes from southern California playing against our team in water polo, and many of them came into our store to buy warmer and dryer clothes. I heard several of them say they had never seen snow before and they have never been so cold. Poor guys.

Around here, we're getting into the festivities of Christmas. The house is decorated and we drink hot chocolate with mini marshmellows. And by "we" I mean "me," because someone eats only the mini marshmellows... Anywho, here are a few pictures.

O Christmas tree.

Every Christmas season since I left home, my mom has always given me ideas on how to make my dorm/room/apartment look more festive, and every year she suggests wrapping picture frames with wrapping paper and bows and such. And every year, I think about it and kindly decline. We laughed about it just recently, and then I went home and tried it--and liked it!! Hahahah. Thanks, Mom.

A few close ups of the thrift store ornaments. Someday, I'll actually pick out some nicer ones that reflect more my style.

Our stockings, empty for now.

My little people display:

This afternoon, I made peanut butter balls (just so-so) and wrapped presents. I love wrapping presents almost as much as I love eating chocolate. It's a perfect opportunity to let the perfectionist in me shine! The nice thing about working retail is having access to all sorts of boxes, big and small.

They're so pretty, I think I'll keep them.
