Hello-hello-hello-hellooo

I think that's my echo....

It's been a while. Greetings to the two people who read this! :)

Matthew comes home in ONE WEEK. It's a busy week for us both in each of our countries, so that should help pass the time. In his absence, I haven't been in the mood to blog. Most of the time, I really have nothing to report. It's lame, but don't pity me because I don't feel lame, as if I've lived the last few months in a depression, hugging myself to sleep every night. Don't get me wrong, we missed each other plenty. But, with skype and emails, we made it through just fine. Teaching & dorm life keeps me plenty busy, and Matt and I usually skype around 4 or 5pm. It's after that time when I'm on my own.

If I were to give a recap of my habitual activities since September, here's what it would look like:
--lots of quiet and peaceful (I welcome peace and slower pace) evenings catching up on work, or working ahead on class-related stuff. Doing this, in my sister's opinion, is close to a sin, but for me, it makes me calmer if I manage my work and "get her done". I do know when to stop, really!
--some TV online (and A LOT of Downton Abbey during Hurricane Sandy!)
--going to bed early
--chores
--some sewing: tote bags for my advisees, others as Christmas gifts; some other small baby projects; and recently, a red dress (pictures later--I'm too tired). OH! and I secretly worked on a cloth advent calendar for Matt. He liked it a lot and we can re-use it every year! (again, pics later)
--reading other people's blogs because their lives seeemed more interesting
--painting my nails
--on Thursday nights, young faculty have dinner and watch TV together
--Sundays I spend in town: going to church, hanging out at the library or walking around town, and then women's group
--Since Christmas, I've been reading Agatha Christie novels little by little before bed, so that's been new and fun.
--Really, with teaching and SYA and working on my CDL, then now with basketball games and dorm duty, often I don't mind doing "nothing interesting" in the evenings because it's my slow-down and catch up on work time. Some nights, I actually have very little to do! Miracle! And of course, sometimes I do wish I had more interesting things to do... and energy to do it!

See? you really didn't want to read about all that over these months... Recaps are better.
